Charcloth has been used for hundreds of years to start fires without chemicals. Charcloth ignites from a single spark from a ferro rod, fire piston, or magnifying glass and turns into a slow-burning, extremely hot fuel that will ignite any tinder (dry pine needles, birch bark, lint, cotton balls, bird down, fatwood, fatwood dust/chips, shaved magnesium). For optimal results, wrap the charcloth around your tinder or in the case of a bird's nest put the charcloth inside the bird's nest. Ignite the tinder by blowing on the charcloth.
